Cough, Hack, Wheeze
Nov. 30th, 2004 06:02 pmI'm still suffering (mildly) from that dratted cold, but, being a Dedicated Public Servant, I came to work anyway. My voice did survive the first lecture, but there's one more to go and I'm feeling pretty raspy. We shall see.
I did make some headway on the paper; I'm about halfway through Part II. The last paragraph or two need reworking, but I'm about to get to the good stuff. Now, if I can only figure out how to import a diagram from Mathematica and get a legible result...
Addendum (9:36 CST): At the start of the second lecture, my students were very solicitous: "Oh, you look awful!" "You should go home!" "I'll give you a ride!" Slackers...

Date: 2004-12-01 12:25 pm (UTC)Hey, students everywhere are like that... even me, with my mature years (snort!) will do anything to get out of some classes. OTOH, there are others that I really miss if the prof. has to cancel for illness or conference or somesuch.

Date: 2004-12-01 02:09 pm (UTC)(I do wish I could stay home today, though. My voice is pretty fragile at the moment, but this close to the end of semester I can't afford to lose lecture time. It'll be a tight fit finishing the syllabus in calc as is.)

Date: 2004-12-01 02:49 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you're ill, though, and send you virtual chicken soup. And even if you're not coughing, Ricola Herb cough drops are very soothing to the throat as well. Might help some. {{{hugs}}}

Date: 2004-12-01 08:54 pm (UTC)Along with SunLizzard Sis' virtual chicken soup, I highly recommend my all-time favorite of Vick's Vaporub on the throat, chest, and under the nose. MMmmm. Who knows if it really does what is purports to do? Just smelling it makes me feel better!
{{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and wishes for being able to stay *out* of the cold and wet!
