Hrm! P'raps it was for the best that so many kids came yesterday; it's raining tonight, and now that I think of it it's supposed to keep on raining for the next couple of days. I'll keep the light on for a couple of hours, but I don't expect any business. Just as well; having so many people come to the door excites Ben and Murphy a bit too much. (They almost got out once, but I put my knee down on Murphy and pinned him, and Ben couldn't get past him.) Unfortunately, I went out and bought another bag of candy this afternoon, just to be sure, and I guess I'll wind up eating it all. (Butterfingers...) This is not going to help my attempts at losing weight. (I was down to 191.5 this morning, which is the lowest reading I've gotten since buying this scale about a year ago.)

Ah well. I'm just about done with Sprig Muslin - no real surprises, just the reliable Heyer wit - and I've also started in on Narcissus in Chains.

Happy Halloween!
I will post tomorrow about Halloween activities here. We did actually have children - in costume - come tonight. I was glad; for so long, so many kids did not trick-or-treat here. :)

Happy Halloween Hopper

Well, we did a land rush business here! This is an exceptionally nice neighborhood for it--good lighting, wide street, most people participating--so we get a lot of groups, whole carloads at a time. I love it!

Nothing last night, but that's when all of the carnivals and inside activities were. Just before sunset we had some ominous-looking clouds (and actually heard thunder!), but nothing came of that. Just fairly cool out.

It's supposed to turn quite cold tomorrow and for tonight and the next couple of nights, be near freezing. There'll go the rest of the leaves.

Happy Spookies to All!

Thanks, LizzSis!

I have been very derelict in my writing duties. This shall be rectified! We've been working on a lot of house stuff and other things, i.e., Alec is doing well enough that we *can* do them. Yay! The thing that took the most time last week and all weekend free time was copying all of my inbox emails (must be done by copy/paste method, one at a time - Evil Hotmail) and saving them in Word as documents. I had @350, so I feel quite accomplished. No longer is my Hotmail nagging me about the very RED status of my account :)

I'll send Halloween pics offlist to you guys!

Hey, hornedhopper, would you like to try the Gmail email?

It's the new google based email account that's free and only available by invite. I've got plenty of invites, so let me know if you want one.

They give you 1000 MB of space. Which is lots more than any other. :-)

Thanks for the offer, toraks. I don't know anything about Gmail. What is it and is there any downside to having it? 1000MB is way more than my 2MB from E. Hotmail.

As far as I know, no downside except having to get a new email account and tell everybody.

They've supposedly got a spam blocker and they do have an easy spam reporting function. And I've only gotten one email that looked like spam after having it 2 or so months.

It works things a bit differently, no folders, but labels instead. You can filter things easily by the labels though.

Really the only downside is having to play with it to get used to it and get everything the way you want it. I've found it intuitive so far and haven't had any problems with it.
