I was already up. (I've gotten into the ungodly habit of rising around 4 AM, for some reason.) There was one very short shock - less than half a second, I'd guess - and then a slightly longer and stronger one, at which point I grabbed Murphy and ducked under the doorframe.
The only real effect was that a couple of papers fell out of my overflowing waste basket.
