In grad school, after turning in enormous take-home exams and papers, before vacations, I always comforted myself with the knowledge that now the PROFESSOR was getting his / hers, because they had to read and grade the damned things AND turn in the grades too! But *I* was finished.
Teaching is a special talent. I work at a university, and some of the professors amaze me with their ability to explain highly technical subjects in simple, clear terms.
I taught a writing class here last semester, and it took a huge bite out of my time. The grading was tough, yes, mainly because the students all craved A's more than life itself (or so it seemed), yet most of the papers were not really A level.
