Unfairness Redux

It's really a shame to start break week in as foul a mood as I'm in right now.

Further deponent sayeth not.

No, that's not fun.

I will hope that this mood has cause to turn around very soon.

Are you being punished for scheduling a test the last day before break?

Love, C.

Hmm. That's a disturbing question. There's a certain, ah, appositeness to the current situation....

I do expect to calm down in a few hours.

In grad school, after turning in enormous take-home exams and papers, before vacations, I always comforted myself with the knowledge that now the PROFESSOR was getting his / hers, because they had to read and grade the damned things AND turn in the grades too! But *I* was finished.

Love, C.

I hear you. Grading is, hands down, the worst part of the job.

You must be missing the students...

heh

Well, I do enjoy teaching. Grading I could do without, but geez... being paid to talk about things I enjoy? I'd do it for free (cf. the Ramble).

Teaching is a special talent. I work at a university, and some of the professors amaze me with their ability to explain highly technical subjects in simple, clear terms.

I taught a writing class here last semester, and it took a huge bite out of my time. The grading was tough, yes, mainly because the students all craved A's more than life itself (or so it seemed), yet most of the papers were not really A level.

Here's hoping it improves...

It did, thanks.
