I feel the need for more music.

I've been thinking about my CD collection, and noticing some definite gaps that need filling.

I have a Billie Holiday album, but nothing by Ella Fitzgerald.

I have a Kingston Trio album, but it doesn't have "Tom Dooley", and I'm not satisfied with the recordings of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "When the Saints Go Marching In".

I have a three-disc set of Gene Pitney's songs, but none of them include "E Se Domani", "Hawaii", "The Last Two People On Earth", "Garden of Love", "Walk", or "Follow the Sun".

My Petula Clark album is excellent, but it doesn't have "Two Rivers".

I don't have anything by the Beatles, and my one Stones album doesn't have "Satisfaction" or "Kicks".

I don't have any early Joe Cocker.

I have one Linda Ronstadt album, but not "Blue Bayou" or any of her work with the Stone Poneys.

I need more Moody Blues and Carole King.

I don't have anything by Blood, Sweat and Tears.

America, Boston, Chicago and Kansas are missing.

I want some Cyndi Lauper, Mister Mister, and Mike & the Mechanics. Spandau Ballet. Mannheim Steamroller. Whatsername who sang "99 Luftballoons". (Ed.: Nena. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] hornedhopper)

Dolly Parton. Skeeter Davis. Tammy Wynette. Patsy Cline.

More Al Stewart. More Heart.

whine.

Thanks for the ID.

I have a hankering for some good Swiss.

I keep thinking of more stuff I want. (Yes, I know, nothing's stopping me from doing something about it...)

Have you ever listened to 10cc? Given that you like *most* music (g), I'm willing to bet that you would enjoy the melodies, harmonies, and rhythm switches, not to mention the interesting lyrics. Gee, d'ya think I'm a fan? I don't like *all* of their music, but am very partial to many of their songs. "I'm Mandy; Fly Me," "Dreadlock Holiday," "Art For Art's Sake, and "Wallstreet Shuffle" are some of my favorites.

As long as you're being greedy (lol), you might as well see if you like these...they go well with Swiss, I imagine.

I do have my limits. I loathe Michael Bolton; I find Wilson Phillips dull; and middle-period Rod Stewart (ca. "Tonight's the Night") repels me. (Early RS - "Maggie Mae" - isn't bad, and his late period - "Downtown Train", e.g. - is actually pretty good, but he stank for a while there.) But, yeah, my tastes are pretty eclectic.
