When I made my Waldorf salad last week, I used Braeburn apples, on a whim. I'd never tried them before.
Braeburn apples are the Mama Bear of apples, neither as tart as, say, Granny Smiths nor as sweet (and bland) as Delicious apples. Here, at least, they cost about twice as much as Delicious, but they're worth it.

Date: 2006-12-07 09:07 am (UTC)Cool! I'm glad. It's really pretty easy to do. By the way, we'd usually get the frozen precooked shrimp and just thaw it out on the stove and add the spices to flavor. So not really having to cook much there.
But yeah, I'd think about it again when it's hotter! :-)
