I've finally returned to reading Heyer's The Spanish Bride; this time I'm making good progress.

Given that there's a significant amount of Spanish in the book, would it have been too much trouble to employ a proofreader who actually knew some Spanish? "A buen bambre no bay pan duro", indeed!

It's like a Monty Python skit! "Ha probado a pronunciar la letra 'a' dondequiera que vee la letra 'b'?"

It's an easy mistake; in the italic font they're using, "b" and "h" look a lot alike. But - cripes, I've scarcely had anything to do with Spanish in the last twenty years, but it took me less than thirty seconds to a) recognize that there was a mistake and b) deduce what was actually meant. Half the Anglos south of Santa Barbara and west of Houston could probably do the same. It's just aggravating.
