A few months ago, while congratulating Lois McMaster Bujold on her second consecutive Best Series Hugo award, I jested that she was out of series, unless she wrote another Wide Green World story.

Well, she has, a novella which is likely to appear in late January. I doubt it's long enough to make the WGW series qualify, but one never knows...

I just checked - the only requirements are more than 240,000 words total, and 'one installment published in the previous year'.

I think that means it qualifies.

She read an excerpt in the last few months - when I pointed out that it was likely to make WGW eligible for Best Series, she commented that she'd be very surprised if was nominated, let along won, because her impression is that her fanbase doesn't like WGW anywhere near as much as the Vorkosiverse or Five Gods books.
