Gracie's eye trouble flared up again, and so I took her to the vet yesterday. They had to shave her muzzle and around her eyes; she has kind of a foxy look now. Prescription eye drops twice a day for five days, and then I have to get OTC eye drops for her - three times a day, for the rest of her life.
Kind of depressing, that is. If she lives the average lifespan for a Yorkie, that'll be about five more years (and I did *not* need to be reminded of that). I'm not sure what I'll do about the holidays. I may decide to skip my California trip this year.
Sigh. Living with dogs is part of *living*, for me; but there's a cost to it.

In Minneapolis, there's a company - Pets Are Inn - that arranges in-home pet-sitting. They don't list any franchises in Illinois, but I wonder if there's an equivalent? I vaguely recall seeing ads for an Uber-like company that does pet walking - I wonder if they also to pet sitting?
