The Collector's Peril

I find that I now own enough of Georgette Heyer's novels that I sometimes can't remember, offhand, which ones I have. I just paid a visit to Amazon UK, so as to order the British edition of HP6, and decided to pick up some Heyers as well; I was on the brink of ordering The Reluctant Widow when I thought to look at my checklist (a complete list of her works, with the ones I own italicized) and saw that I already had it. This has happened before (on one occasion without my checking the list, which is why my sister C has - or had, if she's passed it on - a copy of Regency Buck).
Ah, well. I ordered Lady of Quality and The Spanish Bride instead.

Can't tell you how many times I've bought a book I already own!!
Usually it's at a library used book sale or something, but once in a while, a new one. Ooooops!
I'm so glad Tom and I spent the time to put all of our books into a book collector program. Now I've got that to look at before I buy anything. And an almost up to date printout of it in my purse.
Though, since I've found bookstores/used bookstores pretty useless locally, I do most of my buying on Amazon.co.uk. And the completely updated computer version works just fine!! :-)
