Unhairy Situation

stoutfellowToday, unusually late, I finally shifted to my Summer morph. Shaved my beard (scissors, then razor, then new blade) and went over to Super Cuts to remove most of my hair. Usually I do this in late March or the very beginning of April, but the weather's been so up-and-down that I held off. It's supposed to be chilly again tomorrow and Monday, but to return to highs in the high 50s to mid 60s F after that.
I'm trying to decide what line to use if any of my students react. My usual line is "It's spring. I shed", but this year "I did my taxes over the weekend, and got scalped" is a possibility.
(I miss Murphy, even after ten years. My ritual spring shaving always drove him to frantic face-licking, and Ben would get into the act too, even without understanding - he went in for hands and feet. Buster and Gracie are just blase about it all.)
