Paint Your... Cart?

I'm rereading the second Tiffany Aching book, A Hat Full of Sky, and just hit a scene in which the Nac Mac Feegle - the very very small Nac Mac Feegle - need to go a long distance as quickly as possible. A dozen or so of them have disguised themselves as a human (yes, one human), and have flagged down a cart. Getting into the cart involves some negotiation among the Feegle, and Rob Anybody, who is in charge of the head, apologizes to the cartman: "Sorry aboot this. I talk to my knees, but they dinnae listen to me."

Who'da thunk it? Pterry watched Paint Your Wagon - or at least heard part of the soundtrack!
