Summer's End

Well, summer semester is over. At least, it's over for me. Officially, it runs for ten weeks, but for various reasons many of the classes are on odd schedules: weeks 1-5, 6-10, 1-8, and 3-10 are common formats. Mine was a 1-8 class. Since it ended before tenth week, I had to give the final on the last day of class, which was Thursday. I have a small stack of finals to grade, which I will take care of this weekend. After that, I'm off the hook for four weeks.
Well, more or less. Various bureaucratic details need to be taken care of before fall semester starts. Among other things, I have to have a new computer brought in and as much as possible of my files and software transferred. The university no longer buys computers for faculty; it rents them, on a three-year cycle, and my old computer's three years are up. The new one will be more powerful, as far as I can tell; I'm not sure I need the additional power, but I'm not going to argue against it.
Meanwhile, I need to see a couple of doctors, Buster and Gracie need a couple of trips each to the vet, and... well, other things need doing. Four weeks....
