Last night, the Padres clawed their way back to .500, with a 3-1 win over the Giants. Cabrera hit a run-scoring triple - he's showing more extra-base power this season, so far! But the real treat was the third run: Denorfia laid down a perfect bunt with Venable on third, and the Giants had no play at the plate.

Dad would have loved to see that. He was always complaining that the Padres didn't go for the squeeze play often enough, and this was a textbook safety squeeze.

Now let's try for above .500, shall we?
