A winter storm swept through last night - rain, freezing rain, sleet, and a dusting of snow. It seems only to have accumulated on concrete; from my windows, the sidewalks and driveways are solid white, the lawns and streets unaffected. (This isn't quite accurate; closer examination shows bits of white here and there on the grass, but from any distance it's invisible.)
I think that, on my grocery run today, I'm going to walk in the street. The sidewalks are undoubtedly treacherous footing. (In particular, there's one house en route where a couple of drainpipes dump their loads directly onto the sidewalk. That's where I fell, a couple of weeks ago. I've been avoiding that section of sidewalk as a matter of course, ever since.)
