Socks

Today, I found myself in the infants' wear section at Kohls.

Gracie has been chewing on her foot, too. The vet gave me a spray to be applied twice daily, but she has to be kept from licking or chewing the sprayed area. One option was a cone, which I'd rather avoid - if nothing else, I'm out of the house from time to time, and a cone could cause accidents. The alternative was some sort of a wrap; the vet suggested a baby sock. So, the infants' wear section....

I came home with four pair of infant socks (the minimum possible). I clipped the toe off one sock and - against some resistance - slipped it onto Gracie's upper left foreleg. We'll see how long it stays on. The prescription is two weeks - spraying twice daily for one week, once daily for another. Here's hoping it heals!

It's still not clear that this will work. I think I can get her to keep the sock on for a few hours at a time, at least, and I hope that will be enough. As long as she doesn't lick off the medicine before it can do its work....

And as long as the topical medication won't make her sick if she ingests it...
