stoutfellow1. Today, my lawn-care people mowed the back yard for the first time this year. Remembering that Murphy always had a thing for new-mowed grass, I took the pups out back to see how they would react. Flat bust. Buster stepped off the porch for a quick pee, then came back to the door; Gracie went a little further, but likewise showed no interest in the grass. Maybe it's because the ground is wet from yesterday's drenching.
2. I'm playing my current Skyrim character as a loyal Imperialist (even though he's a Nord), and an ethical one. I don't attack strangers unless it's been established that they're hostile. In my latest session, I was on my way to Riften, sneaking along the road (except in cities, I sneak a lot...) when I spotted a cloaked stranger up ahead. I crept closer, trying to determine who and what he was; suddenly, the "sneak" icon changed to "SPOTTED" and he turned toward me, hands flaring with magic. OK, hostile: I charged and delivered a mighty whack with my warhammer. Then I saw the wolf coming up from behind me.... It was the wolf which had spotted me, and which he was reacting to. Oops. I quit without saving, so that I'll have a second chance at, um, not killing this harmless stranger.
