From a Distance...
Oct. 27th, 2012 09:34 pmIt is possible that no one told me.
It is possible that I was told, but either didn't pay attention or didn't recognize the implications.
But now I know. The university has a program allowing access to one's office computer from home, without breaching network security. All I need to do is fill out a form, hand it to the Chair, and let him sign it and send it along. This I will do on Monday.
I can't tell you how many times I've been at home and had an idea which, to be tested or exploited, needed Mathematica or GSP. I've only been able to make a note to myself and stick it in Dropbox, to be pulled out and read when I got to campus. Now, though, I'll be able to come straight from the shower to my computer room and work on it immediately.
Ah, bliss....
