Respite

The heat has temporarily broken; today's forecast high is 91F. We're getting a little rain now, and may even get some thunderstorming today or tomorrow. We desperately need the rain.

Sad to say, we'll be back in the high 90s tomorrow and in triple digits Wednesday, but I'll take what I can get.

You know, there's something seriously wrong about saying the heat's broken when it's over 90 degrees out. I understand that it probably feels that way from the over 100s you've been having, but it still boggles my mind.

Well, the word "broken" is certainly apropos....
