May. 16th, 2012 11:26 amOn Sunday, I decided to cook for myself this summer; I'd gotten into the frozen-dinner habit. I settled on fettuccine alla Romana for this week, and scurried over to Shop'n'Save for the ingredients. The recipe called for a pound of fettuccine, so I went to the pasta aisle. There, I found 16 oz. boxes of spaghetti and likewise of vermicelli and linguine, but fettuccine came only in 12 oz. boxes. I continued to search, and finally found one brand of noodles that provided a full pound of fettuccine.
I just finished the last of the sauce. I still have quite a few noodles left.
I have made a marginal note in the cookbook: "12 oz may be enough."
