"Oh Say Can You See / My Eyes..."

I finally got Buster to the groomer yesterday. His coat was just a mess; I should have taken him weeks earlier, but between my work schedule and the weather, this was my first opportunity this summer. It took them considerably longer than usual, and they charged me an extra five dollars, which I paid without demur.
One of the best things about groomed-Buster is being able to see his eyes again. He has marvellously expressive eyes, when they're visible.
When I go to bed, to sleep or nap, Gracie always joins me, burrowing under the covers and curling up near my waist. Buster sometimes follows suit; I'm usually lying on my left side, with my left arm under my pillow, and Buster curls up in the angle formed by the left side of my chest and my arm. For the last few months he hasn't jumped up more than half the time; but for the last couple of days, every time I've lain down, he's come charging in and up. Maybe, when he was so shaggy, lying next to me was just too hot for him. Anyway, he seems much more lively now - which is saying something.
I'll be taking Gracie in next Saturday.
