Disappointments

The books and DVDs I ordered arrived yesterday. Two small dissatisfactions.... I stupidly ordered Patricia Briggs' Blood Bound, forgetting that I already had it; more, I ordered the hardcover. I think I'll pass the paperback on to my sister E; I think she might like it, even if it is the second book in a series. She can always back up and get the first one. Also, looking at the "Cagney & Lacey" DVD, I noticed that it was only four discs. That seemed a bit skimpy for a full season, especially if it also included "a two-part featurette". Consultation with Wikipedia reveals that Season One was only six episodes long. Furthermore, though the cover says "Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless", Gless was not on the show that first season. The topper: it cost the same as the "Scarecrow & Mrs. King" season-one set, which was three and a half times as long.
Meanwhile, my other credit card company has informed me that they, too, were unable to complete the transaction. That swings the pointing finger back to my bank. I'll have to go downtown today or tomorrow, so I can talk to someone with more authority than a teller. Gah.
Addendum: I take it back about "Cagney & Lacey". Although the cover says "Season 1", it's actually Season Two, and contains a full 21 episodes. (Just above the title are the words "The True Beginning"....)
