I just got an update from my dogsitter. Last night she suggested that she take Buster home with her, just to keep an eye on things; I agreed to this, after some thought. He's wearing a cone, to keep him from worrying at the incision, and Hawthorne told her to keep it on him as long as possible. She's concerned about the idea of leaving him, cone and all, at my house without supervision, and again volunteered to keep him with her for another day, possibly more.
I agreed to her keeping him one more night, with the proviso that she take him with her when she goes to feed Gracie tonight. This postpones, but doesn't alleviate, my concerns. On the one hand, yes, having him supervised for the time being is a good idea; on the other, it means leaving Gracie completely alone - and of the two, she is the one least equipped for that. I don't want to suggest having her take Gracie in as well, especially with Gracie's occasional incontinence.
Is a puzzlement. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments?
