Recordings
Sep. 9th, 2009 02:55 pmI've recorded four more albums:
Joan Baez, The Best of Joan Baez. This is a very fine album, with several beauties on it: "Diamonds and Rust", "Forever Young", "Gracias a la Vida", "Please Come to Boston", "Love Song to a Stranger".
Boz Scaggs, Silk Degrees. I bought this one to get "Lido Shuffle", but found that I liked quite a few of the other songs - "Lowdown" in particular, but also "Harbour Lights". On the strength of that, I also bought his next album, Down Two Then Left. Suffice it to say that, though I still have that album, I won't be putting it on my hard drive.
Carly Simon, The Best of Carly Simon. This one, I got for the sake of "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be", surely the saddest song about accepting a marriage proposal that I've ever heard, but there are other goodies as well: "You're So Vain", "Anticipation", and - one of my personal favorites - "Haven't Got Time for the Pain".
Kansas, Leftoverture. Yeah, yeah... but back in the day I went to the lengths of memorizing the lyrics of "Carry On Wayward Son" and "The Wall". I don't know whether I'll still like them, but I'm going to give them a try.
