Summer's End
Jul. 31st, 2009 02:48 pmSummer semester is effectively over. On Tuesday I gave the last lecture in my topology class, and handed out the take-home final. They've got nine questions to answer, and have until next Friday to hand in their results. (One of them, I think, is really hard. They've got all the tools they need, but the argument is fairly intricate. I'll probably be lenient in grading that one - unless somebody actually solves it, in which case all bets are off.)
Fall semester begins the last (full) week of August. I'm of two minds about that; I've been assigned to teach two sections of GenEd statistics, which is not exactly my favorite class, plus the course on Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry. On the other hand, it will be nice to be drawing a full paycheck again.
Meanwhile, I've got about three weeks off, which will be nice.
