Hallowe'ene'en

When and how did this business of celebrating Hallowe'en on two consecutive nights get started? I know it wasn't that way when I was a kid.

I only left the light on for about an hour tonight, and I must have had twenty-five or thirty kids come by. I may have to buy some more candy for tomorrow night.

It's not a trend that's in evidence here. I had the porch light on 'til midnight last night (on account of my party) and didn't get a single beggar trick or treater.

But then, we have 'official' trick-or-treat hours in this town, so the kids probably know it won't do them any good to try to knock on doors at any other time.
