Be Careful What You Wish For

Yesterday, when I left for work, both dogs were inside the house. It was just starting to sprinkle, and it rained, sometimes heavily, for most of the afternoon and evening.
When I returned home, both dogs were inside the house - but Gracie's coat was damp. There were two possibilities: one of the dogs had worked out how to turn on the bathtub tap, or else Gracie had finally (hallelujah!) figured out the doggie doors. As partial corroboration, there was no indication of any messing inside the house.
Final confirmation came last night, at about 2:30, when I was awakened (as often before) by Gracie's barking. Not, this time, from on the bed, nor from under it: she was outside.
Outside. Barking. At 2:30 in the morning.
I leave the rest to your imagination.
