We just got back from the vet, and the news is about as good as could be hoped. (Which isn't to say that it's good, just that it's not worse.)

I told the vet what had been going on and what I'd been doing about it. She approved my handling, made a couple of dietary suggestions, and refilled Ben's various medications (including the epinephrine). Basically, Ben's about where he should be, and the crisis is still some ways off.
