MathFest 2008 is next week, and I'll be giving a talk in the session on classical Euclidean geometry. I just received an e-mail from the organizer of the session, with information concerning the available facilities. He had asked the convention center officials about:

1) connections between notebook computers and an overhead projector (available for PCs; Mac users should probably bring a cable, to be on the safe side);

2) a projector for transparencies (available);

3) a whiteboard on which people can write with markers (don't count on it).

No freaking blackboard?

Geez. I'm going to have to spend Monday preparing transparencies. (I don't have a notebook computer.) To salvage a little techie cred, I will prepare them using Mathematica.

Despite my grumbling, it's probably best that I let my computer draw the figures for me ahead of time. Art is not one of my strong suits. But yes, I will have a Sharpie with me.
