Midnight Draws Near

stoutfellowI took Murphy to the vet today to get his bordetella shot, preparatory to kennelling him during my August vacation.
After looking at him, the vet agreed to give him that shot, but said that there was no point to giving him a DHP shot. His weight loss over the last year suggests kidney trouble. Worse, the particular way in which he has trouble walking indicates neurological damage; a brain tumor heads the list of possibilities.
They took a blood sample; I'm awaiting the lab results, but it looks very likely that I will have to have him put down, probably before I leave for Madison.
I can't stand this.
