I have long wanted to buy - perhaps custom-buy - a T-shirt with the words "I Like Ludwig" encircling a picture of J. S. Bach, just to see how people would react.

Hmm. So evidently the intended joke might well misfire. My take was that those words ought to encircle a picture of Beethoven, not Bach. The possibility of other interpretations - e.g., that Bach might be seen as saying the words - hadn't occurred to me. Oh, well.
