Yet Another Murphy

I'm reading Grave Peril, the third of the Harry Dresden stories, and I'm seriously beginning to regret having watched the TV series. Not that it wasn't good, but I now have a very firm mental image of Karrin Murphy - and it's wrong.

They couldn't find a blonde for the role? A blonde wig, even?

I did exactly the same thing. My solution was just to ignore the descriptions of Murphy in the books [g].

I got lucky. I finally gave in to various friends' recommendations (that's a polite way of recasting "obsessive demands", yes? *g*) and read the first half-dozen or so books just a couple months before the show premiered. So I have the "correct" mental image of Murphy and can claim that the TV version is wrong.
