For the last few days, my mouse has been misbehaving. It would move the cursor up, down, or left without difficulty, but it would go right only under violent coercion, and then only spasmodically. (A verifiable case of BDS, perhaps? ;-)) For anything requiring delicate control, this was extremely frustrating, so today I went over to Target and bought a new mouse. (Hey, it's not like they're expensive!) It's working much better, although I may have to relearn my fine control.

While there, I also browsed their music selection, and picked up a couple of albums: the Beatles' Revolver, and The Essential Paul Simon. I was a bit hesitant about Revolver; the only songs I recognized were "Eleanor Rigby", "Yellow Submarine", and "Got To Get You Into My Life". No doubt I'll remember some of the others once I listen. In any case, I do want the complete set, and I'm about halfway there. As for the Simon: I have the complete Simon & Garfunkel, but none of Simon's solo work until now. I think that none of his solo work compares to the best of S&G ("Wednesday Morning 3 AM", "Sound of Silence", "Bridge over Troubled Water", "The Boxer", "America", "Mrs. Robinson"), but there's quite a bit of good stuff on this album. (I was singing as much as I could remember of "Mother and Child Reunion" on the way back home.)

I still need to get some jazz; I think I'll go over to Borders tomorrow and see what I can see.

(Oh: with the onset of cooler weather, I've begun my winter beard; hence the changed icon.)

I thought on reading that initial sentence this was about a pet mouse, of the sort Kij Johnson keeps.
