I bought my Christmas tree today. It's a small artificial one, with optical fibers running up from the base and down the branches; there's a gizmo in the base which varies the light that's sent up through the fibers, so it twinkles and changes color. There's not much room for ornaments, and I haven't had a lot of luck shaping the tree, but it's a Christmas tree, and it fulfills its function.
Unfortunately, the thing in the base makes a certain amount of noise - a good thing, as it'll make it easier to remember to unplug it at night - and Murphy's scared of it. He's spent the last half-hour burying his nose in whatever part of me was within reach. (Ben's cool with it. Ben's cool with everything, except when he's on a depressive swing.) Silly mutt.
