I predict lawsuits in Virginia. I can't see Allen taking the high road, not with the stakes this close and the RNC breathing on him not to be a loser/defeatist. Can't say what's going to happen in Montana, with the Dem challenger holding onto a majority that's even slimmer as of 10 am.

The margin in Montana is smaller in absolute terms, but not in relative terms; last I looked, the Virginia margin was about .4%, the Montana about twice that.

Still too close for comfort, though.

But, even if the Senate stays in Republican hands, look at the numbers! There is no way that the Republicans can "stay the course" on the issues. A huge slap was dealt them yesterday.

I ended up voting for the Democratic candidate for Senate, even though I didn't like his campaign, knew nothing about him, and do respect the Republican guy. Well, Kyl won, but it was by a far smaller margin than one would have imagined. I think he got the message.

Also, who'da thunk that Arizona, Land of the NeoAndertals, would actually vote against an amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman and denying any partner benefits for a domestic partnership of whatever stripe. Go, us!!

I am very hopeful today! America bellowed, and the politicians *have* to listen!
