First-World Problem
Mar. 22nd, 2018 12:39 pmThis is a matter of no consequence, merely a minor gripe, but one which is irritating me.
For everyday treats for Buster and Gracie, I buy Alpo Variety Snaps Little Bites. (There are also Big Bites, which are larger, but Little Bites seem appropriate for such little dogs.) The snaps come in four color-coded flavors, one of which is (supposedly) peanut butter, colored orange. The first part of the problem is that the peanut butter treats, and only those, make Buster throw up. (He has no trouble with peanut butter itself - only with these treats.) That's normally no problem; I just give all of the orange treats to Gracie.
Here is the second part: the last box I bought contained some whole Little Bites, but the vast majority of them were crumbled up into small pieces. Taking out enough pieces to approximate a real Little Bite is tedious, and with any other treats I'd just dump the box into the dog dishes and go buy another, hopefully better filled, box.
You probably see how the two parts come together: I can't dump the treats into their bowls, because the little orange fragments are intermingled with all of the others, and separating them out would be tedious.
I don't buy store-brand dog treats (or cereals, or other such things) because they tend to be broken up in this way. I am annoyed that a reputable manufacturer has put out such shoddy work.
