Testing, Testing...
Dec. 14th, 2015 11:06 amI've finished the initial coding of my new Finances database, and I've started running it on legitimate data. So far, so good; some minor tweaks have been needed, but no gross errors yet. This evening, after work, I'll be entering the first transactions into the new setup - the bus trip to and from work, an ATM withdrawal, and a small Shop'n'Save trip.
All of the data-entry forms are set up. There will be some data-reporting forms I'll construct later, but that can wait until it actually has data to report.
I may put up a post describing the setup and features. This isn't a commercial work; it's tailored specifically to what I want from a bookkeeping program. The commercially available programs all have capacities I don't need (of course; some, even many, of their customers need them - but I don't) and don't have capacities I want. ("How much did I spend on hygiene products over the last 90 days? How much of that was spent on toothpaste?")
:fingers crossed:
