Election Day

Well, I've been and voted. It's a dreary morning - decent temperature (over 50F), but drizzly - and there was no line at the polling place. It almost took more time for them to find my name in the book than it did for me to vote. (We're back to optical scan now, so I spent quite a bit of time making sure those ovals were completely filled in.)

I voted straight Democratic, of course. I've voted for individual Republicans occasionally in the past, even for Senator or Governor, but under present circumstances I'm not voting for the GOP for dogcatcher. I don't much like Gov. Quinn or AG Madigan, but the alternatives are far worse.

:sigh: I suspect I'm going to go through a lot of Halloween candy this evening.

Koko

A while back, Koko Taylor got onto my "get music" list. I don't remember how or why; but I got her "What It Takes" album recently.

She's loud. Her voice is harsh and not particularly melodic. Her songs tend to be bombastic, even melodramatic.

I like her. Damfino why, but she's really grown on me since I first listened to the album.
