How Much for Just the Planet?
Feb. 21st, 2013 10:16 amI'm currently reading John Ford's classic Star Trek pastiche How Much for Just the Planet?. (Well, technically it's a re-read, but I find that I don't remember anything more than a handful of bits and snatches.) In it, a large number of characters abruptly break off mid-scene to sing, and they are obviously using notable show tunes, TV themes, and what have you. I am embarrassed by how few of them I recognize. ("Rawhide", and... that's about it.) Does anybody know if there's a list somewhere online? Failing that, can anyone identify a few of them for me?
It looks like it's stopped snowing, but a look at the animated radar map suggests that this is just a hole in the storm, and precip should resume fairly soon. I think we've got at least another hour of this stuff.
The estimates I'm seeing (from WU, trained spotters) put the snowfall to this point at about 5-6".
Buster's already gone out in the back yard; another dog was barking, and he felt the need to add his two cents. When he came in, his back was covered with snow (but not pebbled, the way it was when he ventured into a sleetstorm sometime last year).
I'm not budging from the house today.
