This is break week; I took advantage of the off day to trot down to Target to pick up a copy of Civilization V. As soon as I can find my copy of Spore (bought a couple of years ago, but never installed) I'll be putting those two games on my computer. I also bought a couple of CDs, by The Who and Hall and Oates.
On the way home, I decided to stop in at Schnucks. Usually I buy groceries at Shop'n'Save, but I was curious to check out the differences between the two stores.
Reasons to shop at Schnucks instead of SnS: The selection of special breads is better. Also, though SnS has dropped most flavors of Ben & Jerry's, Schnucks has not. I picked up (and have now consumed) a pint of Pistachio Pistachio.
Reasons not to shop at Schnucks: They don't seem to carry Marzetti brand salad toppings. Also, they are absolutely profligate with bags: they put my order into no less than five bags, when three would probably have been enough. (SnS has no baggers; you bag your own groceries. Maybe I'm too used to that.)
I'm plowing my way through Weber's War of Honor; I think this'll be my last purchase in that series. He's always been prone to infodumping, but this one is just overloaded. On top of that, I'm about halfway through, and it's all been set-up. Nothing has happened. If I'm going to read MilSF, I want some shootin'!
