My long-distance provider is AT&T. Among the services I purchase from them is Caller ID, which I have found invaluable.

A little while ago, the phone rang. As usual, I allowed the answering machine to pick up, while standing near to pick up if it seemed appropriate. It didn't, this time; it was a robocall.

"This is an important message from AT&T :boastful blah-blah: Please return this call at :number:"

Set aside the discourtesy inherent in robocalls.

Set aside the gall of using a robocall and asking for a return call.

What I want to know is why the Caller ID screen showed UNKNOWN CALLER.

While I'm on the subject of puzzlements, what's going on with Ozy and Millie? It's officially a Monday-through-Friday strip, although it's occasionally a bit erratic. Today, though, I've visited several times, in hopes of finding today's installment. Instead, I keep getting yesterday's installment. Except when I get Tuesday's installment. They seem to alternate, and hitting "Refresh" has no visible impact.

I realize that time and space behave oddly in the presence of Ozy's dad, but this is ridiculous.

Addendum, four hours later: Houston, we have a Thursday.
