You didn't think I'd quit, didja?
- There's the Girl, Heart. I seem to be rather fond of songs that use the "broken glass" metaphor. Don't ask me what that's all about.
- Mellow Yellow, Donovan. If you're going to be freaky, go all out, a'right?
- Windmills of Your Mind, Dusty Springfield. An austere and disturbing song.
- Let's Call the Whole Thing Off, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Tomayto, tomahto...
- Ball of Confusion, the Temptations. A crowded and despairing song.
- I Love You, Goodbye, Celine Dion. Sorry, but I've got a serious soft spot for this kind of tearjerker.
- The Only Living Boy in New York, Simon and Garfunkel. Another quiet and lonely one from S&G.
- Twenty Years Ago, Kenny Rogers. "But he joined the Army back in nineteen sixty-four / How could we know he would never come back / Twenty years ago?" Sniffle.
- So Far So Good, Sheena Easton. Exuberant and joyful; I love it.
- My Mistake Was To Love You, Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye. Two of the best voices Motown ever produced, in a beautiful and sad duet.
