Murphy seems quite a bit better this morning - enough so that I'm going to hold off on the vet. He's moving a lot better, and he's a good deal perkier - wagging his tail, holding his head up, accepting treats without any coaxing. I will be keeping an eye on things, though; if he's off his feed again anytime in the next few days, I'll have to take steps. Thanks to all who offered their good will, in whatever form.

A Boy Named Sue

I've always wondered why a certain stanza late in the song didn't go something like this (with better scansion, of course):
"I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And he shot me in the leg, said I hadn't learned a damn thing, and walked away."
