Now, this may be an artifact of memory - it's been twenty or thirty years since I read much Bradbury - but I'm struck by how depressing an author he is. Every story of his that I can call to mind by content ranges somewhere between melancholy and horrifying. The Sound of Thunder. Fever Dream (which scared the crap out of me when I was a kid).
