It's been a few days, so... This is another short one.
Only a few songs made the cut, but they're very good, I think.
- Partners, Brothers and Friends, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Just a fun (if slightly vindictive) celebration of a lifestyle.
- My World Is Over, Kenny Rogers and Whitney Duncan. I really like Duncan's voice. It turns out that she put out a couple of solo albums back in the '90s, both medieval/Renaissance. I haven't decided whether to order them.
- The Saga of Pepote Rouge, The Band. Another oddity from The Band, about a mysterious woman - a seeress, perhaps?
- Si Voy a Perderte, Gloria Estefan. Another of her tearjerkers. She also released it in English as "Don't Wanna Lose You", but that version seems toned-down to me. I like this one much better.
- If I Only Had A Match, Don McLean. Gently self-mocking, humorous, nostalgic... I really need to do a post on McLean.
- Enough of the Night, Jackson Browne. The fall of a wild child; thematically similar to Springsteen's "Glory Days", but... well, different, as Browne is different from The Boss.
Only a few songs made the cut, but they're very good, I think.
