Playlist 15
Jul. 12th, 2006 06:07 pmPlaylist 15 is a bit shorter than some of the others, and it doesn't seem to have as many favorites, so I'm only going to name a Top Six.
- I'd Really Love to See You Tonight, England Dan and John Ford Coley. They're lightweights, I know, but I like some of their songs, and this is one.
- Sunday Will Never Be The Same, Spanky and Our Gang. This is another song whose chorus is in my sweet spot. At least it starts out there; by the word "same" it's approaching my squeak-point. I still try to sing along.
- It's Too Late, Baby, Carole King. Breakup songs tend to appeal to me. I know they're not to all tastes - sorry,
hornedhopper - but there are about half a dozen that make my personal hit list. - Once in a Lifetime Thing, Gladys Knight and the Pips. And here's another one.
- I Need You, America. A fair number of America's songs are on the pretentious side, but I find some of them, like this one, quite beautiful.
- I Wants to Stay Here, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. This duet is from Porgy and Bess, and shows off Ella and Satchmo's talents about as well as anything else.

I do note, however, that by its popularity, you are far from the only one to love it!
