Guys, Ya Let Me Down!

What are the odds of Trevor Hoffman and Rod Beck blowing separate leads of two or more runs in the same game? I feel sick, I tell ya. Ye gods, that was awful.
Otherwise, it's been a pleasant day. I've been rereading the Liaden books (or such of them as I own). I inadvertently made the mistake of beginning with Partners in Necessity; rather than break momentum, I went on to Plan B and I Dare before going back to Pilot's Choice, which I just finished. It's a good series, to be sure. (A friend of mine deemed them "too romantic"; my guess is that he read Pilot's Choice, or some part of it. I suspect that he would have liked it better had he begun with "Agent of Change" and gone forward from there.) If I have a complaint, it's that too often the action hinges on previously unsuspected (or, sometimes, vaguely hinted at) preternatural talents of the heroes. Oh, look, Priscilla can throw fireballs! Wow, Miri can take over Val Con's body when he's too badly injured to fly! And so on... I do find the resolution of the crisis in I Dare satisfying, though.
Sunday's my day for reviews, and I'm crafting one for Mojo and the Pickle Jar, but I find myself afflicted with bile over the game today, so it'll have to wait. Two of the best relievers in the game...
