Sunday evening I placed a sizable order with Amazon. All but one of the books were marked "usually ships in 24 hours"; the other had to be special-ordered. In their return mail, Amazon advised me that the order would be divided into two shipments. One consisted of a single book, the other of the rest. One would be shipped quickly - and, indeed, was shipped yesterday; the other, they forecast, would not be sent until the beginning of May.

The one-book shipment is the one that shipped yesterday. The other consists of the special order, together with eight other books, all in the "24 hour" class.

Is there any perspective from which this makes sense?
