It's finals week, and it's hectic.

Today, I wrote the finals for two of my classes.
Tomorrow morning, I'll give the Calculus final. In the early afternoon, I'll try to get as much of that as possible graded. In the later afternoon, I'll give the final in my Algebraic Structures course.
Wednesday, I aim to finish grading the Calculus final and get started on the algebra final. This will occur in between the department Christmas party and a Senior Project presentation by one of my students.
Thursday, the take-home finals for my course on Euclidean and Non-Euclidean Geometry are due, as is the final for my independent study student.
Friday, I have to get all remaining grading done and turn in grades.
Saturday, I clean house a little, take care of all pending bills, buy a few supplies, and pack.
Sunday, I leave for California. Thanks to a snafu on my part, I will miss all or most of the family gift exchange, but O. has promised to save me some food and get my gift to me.

And on the seventh eighth day, I will rest.

That tune seems strangely familiar ...

Good grief. Do stop and breathe every once in a while, okay?

That's too bad you'll miss the Christmas party. Does it always take place so far in advance of Christmas?

It's usually the Sunday before Christmas, yes. There are logistical reasons, involving competing demands on time and the distances to various sets of in-laws.
